Use for symptomatic treatment of tinnitus, vertigo & visual field disturbances should no longer be authorized. Not a curative treatment for angina attacks. Not indicated as initial treatment for unstable angina or MI, nor in the prehospital phase or during the 1st days of hospitalisation. Can cause or worsen parkinsonian symptoms (tremor, akinesia, hypertonia), especially in elderly patients. W/draw if movement disorders (eg, parkinsonian symptoms, restless leg syndrome, tremors, gait instability) occur. Consult a neurologist if parkinsonian symptoms persist >4 mth after discontinuation. Falls may occur in patients taking antihypertensive treatment. Patients who are predisposed to closed-angle glaucoma. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Patients w/ moderate renal impairment. Preferable to avoid use during pregnancy. Should not be used during lactation. Childn <18 yr. Elderly >75 yr.
